ApplyReady Privacy Policy
ApplyReady (“we”, “our”, or “the extension”) is a Chrome extension that helps users compare their resume to a job posting and receive match feedback. This policy explains what data the extension handles and how that data is used.
Data we collect
- Resume content you upload (PDF or DOCX text). This may include personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, phone number, education, and work history.
- Website content from the job posting page you choose to analyze, including job title, company name, job description text, and the page URL.
- Authentication information in the form of an invite/access code used for hosted beta access.
- Analysis results generated by the extension, stored locally so you can review recent matches.
Data we do not collect
- Health information
- Financial or payment information
- Browsing history beyond the job URL you explicitly analyze
- Location data
- Keystrokes, mouse tracking, scroll logging, or other continuous user-activity monitoring
- Personal communications such as emails or chat messages
How we use data
- To extract and compare resume and job-posting text
- To generate match scores, suggestions, and eligibility feedback
- To validate access codes and enforce hosted beta usage limits
- To let you export an analysis report (for example, as a PDF download)
Where data is stored and processed
- On your device: resume text, settings, access code, and recent analysis results are stored in Chrome extension local storage.
- Hosted beta: when you use an access code, resume text, job text, and related job metadata are sent to ApplyReady’s backend (Supabase Edge Functions) and then to Cursor Cloud Agents to generate the analysis. Usage is tracked per access code.
- We do not sell your personal data.
Third-party services
Depending on how you use ApplyReady, data may be processed by:
Those providers process data under their own privacy policies. We send only what is needed to perform the requested analysis or access check.
Data retention
- Local data remains on your device until you clear extension storage, remove the extension, or overwrite/delete saved resume and analysis history in the product.
- Hosted beta requests are processed to complete analysis and enforce usage limits. We do not use resume or job content for advertising.
Your choices
- You choose when to upload a resume and when to analyze a job page.
- You can remove the extension at any time to stop local data collection.
- You can clear site/extension data in Chrome settings, or contact us to request help with access-code related account/usage questions.
Children’s privacy
ApplyReady is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the extension after an update means you accept the revised policy.
